Is Abaqus FEA capable of performing microstructure and grain size study using subroutine

(OP)

Hi to all,

I have already built a thermomechanical model in Abaqus FEA. But I am looking for ways to couple it with a microstructure evolution model ( may be using subroutine). I have all the necessary values and equation regarding the microstructure evolution model. After reading the abaqus documentation may be it is possible through the use of subroutine. But, does the abaqus only allow the user defined and utility subroutines, or is it also possible to create a subroutine in Fortran from scratch and call it in Abaqus FEA.

Any sort of guidance will be really appreciated.
Thank you!

Regards,
laher
