DXF import

DXF import

(OP)
Hi,
when I import a dxf or dwg, lines and texts are imported in the modeling envirnment of the drawing.
It's possible to import directly in the sheet area or in a blank view ?

Thank you...

Using NX 8 and TC9.1

RE: DXF import

you can just go into drafting (in the same file) and drop a view of that model space onto a blank sheet, just scale to fit, job done...

Moog,
this is not what I asked.
I want the dxf lines and texts into the drawing, not related to the modeling environment via a classic view.

Thank you...

Thank you...

Hi Kapil,
I'm under TC and File->Open doesn't have all the option like in native.
Anyway, I will do in native and then import in TC.

Thank you...

RE: DXF import

We could never get DXFs to import into the drawing view when we migrated to 8.5
We have to open a native NX, import the DXF into the £D environment, create a drawing then export a CGM.
The CGM can then be imported into the drawing view on the correct drawing.

RE: DXF import

Hi cubalibre00 and adam1986,
I just had a discussion with aone of our NX expert and here is the solution (you need to import the dxf in a new part). I am attaching a image herewith. You will notice that the dialogs are same now (FILE-OPEN in native). So you can import the dxf directly inside the TC drawing.
Let me know if it works for you.
Best Regards
Kapil Sharma
