Epoxy for waterproofing mostly?
(OP)
Is epoxy mostly for waterproofing or could it be used for structural repair? if the latter not possible, what properties make it not possible since some epoxy are rated as 20,000 psi? Are there different kinds of epoxy? Who have used these? thanks.

Structural epoxies can be used for example on a shear wall with a section of concrete gone hit by a truck? No other crack elsewhere. Is the strength as good as the original concrete?

I don't have a photo but are epoxy non-shrink? Is anyone familiar with two component adhesive system that contains polyamide? Kindly share you experience with structural epoxy and how it behave years later? Thanks in advance.
RE: Epoxy for waterproofing mostly?
With the exception of creep potential, the long term efficacy of epoxy is good.

what kind of application would there be more pronounce effect of the creep potential? like if the crack is more uniform or certain shape? Kindly give an example.

PUEngineer, I know someone who will do it in 6 hours.. please tell me quick the reason epoxy can't be used to repair the base of an inadequate concrete column. Could it be because base shear can creep the epoxy? how about non-shrink grout, can't base shear creep the non-shrink grout? some bars are in the column are already exposed and column has to be fixed in 6 hours so please give logical reasons so I know inform him by logic. Thanks.
RE: Epoxy for waterproofing mostly?
Doesn't anyone else know beside PUEngineer why one shouldn't use epoxy to repair the base of an inadequate concrete column? Procedure will be done in 2 hours by a colleague in another project. If others know, please reply asap.
