Shaded pole motor

Shaded pole motor

(OP)
I have a small machine that has a 1/100hp shaded pole motor on it. It is rated for 120v 60hz. Will this work on 50hz? Being it doesn't have a capacitor, will it have enough torque to start? I could raise or lower the voltage to it if that would help.

RE: Shaded pole motor

From the V:Hz ratio it would want 100 Volts at 50 Hz. If 110 V, 50 Hz is available try it while monitoring the current. There is a good chance that it has enough safety factor to run at 110V, 50 Hz without saturating.
What is the motor running?

I think it turns a small basket. The machine is a small Bead Blaster. It mainly runs on air, so I'm told. It isn't here yet for me to look over. Just another one of those can you get this ready for shipment by tomorrow, and oh by the way it won't be here until the following day type scenarios. I've looked up some of the specs on line, but there isn't much on it out there.
