PN16 gate valve

PN16 gate valve

PN16 gate valve

(OP)
What is the pressure rating in LBS for PN16 in gate valves. Is there any chart to know the conversion from PN to LBS

Per ISO 7268:1983, PN stands for Pressure Nominal. The number immediately after the PN is the pressure rating in bar that the component shall be rated for.

PN16 then, is rated for 16 bar. 16 bar x 14.5 psi/bar = 232 psig.

PN20, is equivalent to Class 150, which, depending on the material table, is rated for 225 - 290 psig.

To actually be 100% sure of the PN compared to LBS transfer, in connection to valve pressure classes, you will of course in addition to above have to have both of the full relevant valve pressure classes norms AND LIMITS available. The reason is that the relevant EN (European) and ANSI classes will not compare directly, but have differencies regarding pressure, pressure and test pressure limits, pressure/temperature limits, material specifications details, allowed measurements of valve (and of course flanges) etc.

Above might help.

Pn16 is for class 125 typically for bronze and iron valves.
