Arrangements vs Explosion -- For larger assemblies
Arrangements vs Explosion -- For larger assemblies
(OP)
I need to create a drawing of multiple views with multiple explosions(arrangements) of a large assembly. Which of the one is more convenient and effective way for this type of drawings.Arrangements or Explosions? One additional thing is , i need to update some of the components in feature, so the drawing is also need to be updated accordingly. Am using UG NX 7.5.

RE: Arrangements vs Explosion -- For larger assemblies
Do you wish to show same number of components (different positions only) in all the configurations? Or do you wish to show different configurations (different number of components also).

I need to show different number of components in each view in different positions. In detail, some components remains in all views in a same positions. Rest of the components have differnet positions and some of them need to be "non-displayed" in few views
RE: Arrangements vs Explosion -- For larger assemblies
in that case Arrangements can be leveraged better.

Arrangements allows you to control suppression status of user selected components so you can show different configurations (both positionwise as well as quantity wise).

Sorry for the terse replies but sometimes it is hard juggling between office work and posting replies. Arrangements can not only control the suppression status of assembly components but also assembly constraints. Perhaps there was a post related to it sometimes back. Also the part list in your drafting sheet will automatically update itself depending on what arrangement is being used.
On a functional basis Explosion needs to be used mainly to show assembly disassembly sequence and arrangements for capturing different configurations (positionwise and quantity wise).Experts would be able to define it in a more refined way than me though.
