In review of AISI S213-07 regarding metal stud walls sheathed in plywood or OSB used as shearwalls, I do not understand the difference between a Type I and a Type II shearwall.
Can someone provide me clarification on the difference?

Type 2 walls are anchored against uplift only at the outer supports. So the load path is assumed to run through any openings/doors/windows frames.
