thread391-329837: LP Economizer Recirc Pump & Tube Skin Temperature
We recently installed thermocouples on two secondary economizer inlet tube bends at opposite ends of the Zurn HRSG. The thermocouples are Type K with SS304 pads that were welded on the tube skins. The tube bends are SA-178 material and are .220 inches thick. We are trying to get an indication of water temperatures during startups. Is there a formula I could use to approximate the water temp? Water from the primary economizer comes in at 310 degrees F. During startups I am reading 550 degrees F. on one thermocouple and 475 degrees F. on the other.

Thanks for any help on this.
