Temporary Carbon Steel (CS) blinds without specified 625 overlay, were installed with 625/825 gaskets (as specified) and coated CS bolting (again as specified) at a 22Cr Duplex dead subsea tree with a threat of excessive sweet corrosion can it be said that either of the following blinding solutions will be suitable:

• 22Cr Duplex blind flanges in accordance with ASTM A182-F51.
• Alternatively CS blinds as per ASTM A350-LF2 or equivalent with the sealing area weld overlaid with Inconel 625.

"The trees are dead: will still be under pressure but the flange area will be at seabed temperature"
