I'd like to know if such a product is available in 3-5mm thickness preclad onto carbon steel ~¾" thick. The manner of cladding is not of primary importance.

In any form (including weld clad) is such a product formable into pipe? I'm keen to hear of your experiences.

RE: Hadfield manganese steel - available as roll clad on steel?

Why o you need it clad? You can form the manganese steel plate into a cylinder . I have not seen them come in the form suggested by you.

Because clad metal is cheaper and better quality than weld overlay. The question was, can such a plate product be rolled up to fabricate pipe?

Because this material exhibits pronounced work hardening it requires a diameter/(wall thickness) ratio large enough to prevent cracking while rolling into pipe.

Is there an ASTM standard for PLATE? Every supplier references only ASTM A128, a casting standard.

brimstoner, to my mind there is no other standard reference excepting ASTM A128,

The only UNS numbers are the J91xxx for the various cast grades.

I've gotten similar feedback from a plate producer - they just use the A128 standard. Thanks all.
