Concrete slab around an interior pool

Concrete slab around an interior pool

Concrete slab around an interior pool

(OP)
An existing interior pool, several decades old. The owner wants to replace the slab around the pool because it has deteriorated a little bit and the architect wants to ground the reinforcement for the slab. Can this slab be a regular 5" slab on grade with rebar or is there something special about the concrete mix/rebar/vapor retarder etc that we need to address.

Thanks.

RE: Concrete slab around an interior pool

As far as the mix goes: Conform to the ACI 350, and you will be good for durability.

Don't forget the isolation joint between the slab and the pool structure!

In Russia building design you!
