control valve sizing

control valve sizing

(OP)
I am going to size a control valve for following condition:
flow condition:steam
P1=41bara
P2=33bara
temperature=410c
specific gravity=11.7
Z=0.98
what would be the amount of Cv?

RE: control valve sizing

(OP)
Flow rate=125000kg/h

RE: control valve sizing

arash807, what type and size of valve is it? Is this the same globe valve you've posted about twice before? If so, consider going back to your first thread and posting the information on that thread instead of constantly creating new ones.

Also, you might need to invest in a Crane Technical Paper 410 "Flow of Fluids." It will let you actually calculate your Cv yourself. Used ones are available if you don't want to spring for the money for a new one (which is rather expensive if you're not in the U.S.)

RE: control valve sizing

I would suggest you get a copy of any control valve manufacturer's catalog, they will have the equations for sizing their valves. I personally like Fisher's control valve handbook.

I could give you a Cv right away but I'm out of town on business right now and don't have access to my spreadsheets.

compressible fluid control valve sizing starts on page 119.
