Convert entities in sketch mode.
Convert entities in sketch mode.
(OP)
Hello,NX 8.5 win7 64 bit, I would like to know if there is an equivalent command in NX to the convert entities command in Solid-works when you are in sketch mode.
You can select a face or edge in Solid-works and convert it to sketch geometry.
Also,in sketch mode is there really no way to divide a spline curve into equal length segments by specifying the number or length of segments like in say Rhino.
Even being able to equally distribute points along a spline would be so helpful.
A 3d spline I can at least place a series of datum planes along a spline at equal percentages from the start of the spline.
Thanks, Buddy.

RE: Convert entities in sketch mode.
You can use project curve inside sketch (for projecting curves, edges, face, points etc). Also since NX gives you an option of choosing entities outside the sketch (work model) through it's selection filter so you can draw sketch curves and take reference of these entities at the same time without even projecting or converting.

Insert -> Curve from Curves -> Existing Curves...
...to add external curves to a sketch, as long as the curves are not features themselves (they must be 'dumb curves'). If they ARE feature ('smart curves') they you will need to use the Project Curve function.
