Obstructed Construction - Panel Construction

Beam and Girder construction with corrugated metal deck forming panels less than 300 sq ft in area....can this be considered panel construction or does the gaps formed above the steel by the corrugated metal deck mean that sprinklers will need to be installed in every bay with the deflectors max of 12" below deck?

I have never worried about those corrugations much, but then again in my area we rarely have that type of construction for mfg/warehousing. I live in the land of plywood on open web steeel bar joists. Its a smooth ceiling as far as defelector distances are concerned. It's also fairly simple to keep the heads on center, in between the 8 ft on center bar joists.
