HI GUY'S JUST WANT TO ask if there

HI GUY'S JUST WANT TO ask if there

HI GUY'S JUST WANT TO ask if there

HI GUY'S JUST WANT TO ask if there is any software or program in the market that can monitor the plant control room..,for example there is a problem in the control room and instead that the production manager will go to the plant in the middle of the night he should look in the home pc that is connected in internet that he can able to see the computer monitor in the control room and see what is the problem..is there any now in the market..?
many thanks

RE: HI GUY'S JUST WANT TO ask if there

Sounds like an application for a VPN. Our operations are centered around a SCADA system and we are able to establish a VPN connection to see and control the system from anywhere in the world, with the same level of functionality as the main control center (except for having as many monitors). Similarly, if all you want is to SEE the monitors you could either use remote desktop connections or even IP cameras.

RE: HI GUY'S JUST WANT TO ask if there

It depends on what the "control room" has; are there a bunch of blinking lights on a huge panel, or are there PCs with software running on them?

If the latter, there are VPNs as Noway2 indicated, and there are programs like Dameware that allow you to see and interact with a remote PC's desktop.

Thanks guys, actually we are using scada in our manufacturing plant,so what i gonna do now..? what kind of software is that or like?

RE: HI GUY'S JUST WANT TO ask if there

Another alternative to VPN is VNC. It will work on both Windows and Linux. If it is a windows system, how about remote desktop?

If it is a bespoke system, you could install a remote control camera just to look at the screens and then decide whether to go in or not.

RE: HI GUY'S JUST WANT TO ask if there

Does your SCADA have a "web client", in other words are you able to point a browser at it and operate? We use Citect and have this capability. This makes remote monitor and control a snap as all we have to do is VPN into our controls VLAN and voila, point IE at at the SCADA and go.
