What are the advantages or disadvantages of 480V/60Hz three-phase power distribution in the USA in comparison to 400V/50Hz in Europe? Why 208V/120V? How to calculate 208V?

RE: What are the advantages or disadvan

What are the advantages or disadvantages of 480V/60Hz three-phase power distribution in the USA in comparison to 400V/50Hz in Europe?
///Advantages:
1. 60Hz is better aligned with 360 degree of circle
2. It is better for clocks
3. Allows higher synchronous speed, i.e. 3600RPM versus 3000RPM
4. Higher level of DC or AV obtained from sinusoid over certain time interval.
Disadvantages:
1. Bigger Eddy current and Magnetization (Steinmetz) Losses
2. Not decadic division
3. Less used around the World than 50Hz\\\

 Why 208V/120V?
///This is for commercial and institutional use to have 120V single phase for small appliances and three phase loads.\\\
 How to calculate 208V?
///120 x sqrt3 = 208V\\\
