I wud like know about the resistence of SS 316l in dilute sulphuric acid(4%) &caustic soda(44%) service? I m talking about a waste whose Ph varies anywhere in between 1 to 14 where this material is going to be used. Can anybody answer in detail plz.

I know that austenitic ss cannot withstand chlorides, so if its not HCl but H2SO4, will it be OK?

RE: 316l in varrying Ph

316L is recommended for both at ambiant temperatures, meaning less than 0.1g/day per meter square. 316 is a good storage container for such solutions.
