Is there any name for the shell elements used in sap 2000? If its there what is the name of thin shell elements used?

RE: Is there any name for the shell ele

What do you mean by "name"? The shell elements that are used include all 6 degrees of freedom (translational and drilling dofs) in 3d space at their edge nodes. When the user chooses the "thin" option, the known Kirchhoff theory for slabs is considers, where as the program uses the Reissner–Mindlin theory if you select the "thick option". The latter includes the consideration of shear deformation as well. More information can be ontained from the Documentation.
