LOADING ON UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION

LOADING ON UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION

LOADING ON UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION

(OP)
i am currently working on underground construction in a coal mine where i am constructing water reservoirs to assist during pumping both minig water and underground water, which other loads are suposed to be incuded besides the water and accumulation of soil as live loads and the conrete weight, reinforcement as dead loads. How does it differ from surface construction besides absence of direct sunlight and humid site conditions.

RE: LOADING ON UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION

Are you designing a buried structure or designing tanks in underground rooms?

RE: LOADING ON UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION

(OP)
I am designing the tanks on underground rooms and they are not burried.

RE: LOADING ON UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION

We've done many large Reda pumps, but not in Coal mines, and they have been constructed on a CLSM base with a concrete slab and housekeeping slab built together. They have been reviewed by the client's mining engineers. In a coal mine, there is a much bigger explosion hazard, and the type of pump may vary.

RE: LOADING ON UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION

Should have added Sumps to the Pumps... the pumps were the greatest loads. Construction was similar to surface except for the CLSM.
