Nx 8.0 Support for Datum Reference Frame Symbol as defined by ASME Y14.5-2009

Nx 8.0 Support for Datum Reference Frame Symbol as defined by ASME Y14.5-2009

Nx 8.0 Support for Datum Reference Frame Symbol as defined by ASME Y14.5-2009

(OP)
One of the new symbols defined by the 2009 standard is the Datum Reference Frame Symbol. See 3.3.30 on page 44. It consists of adding the X, Y, & Z labels to DRF axes on the drawing. Does Nx 8.0 have a built-in function in drafting to add the arrows & labels for the DRF symbol, or do they need to be constructed using existing functions in Nx?

Thanks,

Chuck

RE: Nx 8.0 Support for Datum Reference Frame Symbol as defined by ASME Y14.5-2009

Hi,
I have no idea if we have an OOTB for this but you can create a custom-symbol (Arrow+ Annotation) and use it.
One more idea can be ...Create a datum axis in the model and add a PMI annotation to it (the best part is that you can always change the length of the datum vector)....and then us it in your drafting view.If you have Allow Bi-Directional PMI edit then you can edit the PMI annotation in the drafting itself rather than switching between modeling and drafting.
