Gear Pump supplier

Gear Pump supplier

Gear Pump supplier

(OP)
Dear All.

I am looking for a trustworthy supplier of a gear pump working with crude oil bottoms (like an asphalt) which are 330°C (theese bottoms have a lower viscosity than water at this temperature)and under high vacuum on the headspace of the tank supplying the pump (3 mBar abs, so very little NPSH is availble. this has to be a gasket less aplication with ceramic bearings.

I already know Witte pumps from Germany... any other idea of a good supplier for this type of equipment?

thank you

Marcelo Velez

RE: Gear Pump supplier

Check with Roper Pumps. I know that they have experience with oil products and that they can handle high temperatures.

I agree with micalbrch's recommendation. Roper's specialty is heavy-duty gear pumps for heavy and viscous petroleum-based liquids. They make a good pump and their reputation is based on their performance. Go to:

It's been a while, and I have not checked myself so forgive me, but does Viking Pumps have something for this?

no, I have spoken to their rep and they are pretty lost on the matter...

RE: Gear Pump supplier

I kind of figured it was out of their range. Sorry I didn't check first. Can you advise flow and head required?
