Does anyone know a way to increase graphic resolution of an exported graphic file or an NX image? I am hoping to output a file that will have high resolution that will allow for enlargement and printing. This is for display purposes.

Thanks

Steve

RE: graphics resolution

Using "high quality image" will allow you to set a user defined size @300 dpi.

RE: graphics resolution

If you use the high quality image, you can set the image properties to whatever you like. Note that you need to do a software rendering and not a screendump.
See attached image.

The way to calculate the needed size , Suppose that you need an image which printed should be 60 inches and your printshop wants a density of 300 dpi, then 60x300 = x-size = 18000. Repeat for Y-size.
Don't bother about the "plot quality".

Tomas

Toost,

In what application are you referring? I cannot locate the "image preferences" dialogue. I am using NX8.0 Can you help me out?

Steve

RE: graphics resolution

I was wondering if i needed to mention that or not...

1) turn on the toolbar Visualize shape ( most of the options in that toolbar requires the Vizualize shape license, you should though be able to set the image properties and render a "simple" image without that license.)
then see attached image.

When you have set the options needed, use the start shade button in the dialog and when it is finished use the "save button" in the same dialog.
Do not use file - export- ... because NX will then do a screendump where the size is what you see on the screen.

Regards,
Tomas
