Failing at a swept cut

Failing at a swept cut

Failing at a swept cut

(OP)
I am trying to cut a mould round this circular table top. I understand that I need a swept cut to do this but I am having trouble. I have got as far as drawing the cut shape on the plane but I can't get SW to select it as the profile, let a lone work out how to give it the path!

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers Daniel.

RE: Failing at a swept cut

If the table is circular you could use the Revolved Cut tool instead of a Swept Cut.
Either way the profile should be closed.

A Swept Cut will need either a second sketch describing the path, or an edge, for the profile to be swept along.

Brilliant, the revolved cut worked great after I had closed the sketch. Thanks for your help.

Daniel.
