Deleting unloaded components from assembly NX7.5

Deleting unloaded components from assembly NX7.5

Deleting unloaded components from assembly NX7.5

(OP)
Have an assembly one of our users was opening and one of the parts is obsolete and it says part not found. But when you try to delete the part from the assembly, you get a error "failed to find file using current search options, part left unloaded. Why is the assembly trying to load the part when we want to delete it from the assembly?

RE: Deleting unloaded components from assembly NX7.5

(OP)
One thing I did notice about the part that was trying to be deleted, it had a promotion associated with it. I was able to have the user replace the part with another simple part. Then delete the promotion. Then the replaced part could be deleted.

RE: Deleting unloaded components from assembly NX7.5

You found the reason for the problem AND one of the weaknesses of Promotions.
