Hello all:

Would like to know what foundation depth have you used for the Dallas area (south of downtown. 4 miles) and if any detailing considerations are necessary for lateral loading in frame residential construction other than wind like hurricane detailing etc. Thanks for your input.

RE: Foundation Depth Dallas area

What does your geotechnical engineer say? Watch out for expansive soils. Every job I have done in Dallas was eithor on a raft foundation or drilled piers

RE: Foundation Depth Dallas area

There's a lot of problem soils in that area of Texas, especially swelling clays. I strongly recommend a Geotechnical Study and Report before commencing any work. It's money well spent.
