Bridge Design Modeling: Fixed or Pinned?

Bridge Design Modeling: Fixed or Pinned?

Bridge Design Modeling: Fixed or Pinned?

Direct to the point: Fixed or Pinned? Which is better?
Also, even though that it is "fixed" in the plans, it is okay to model also as pinned and get whichever is higher in results?
Thanks!

RE: Bridge Design Modeling: Fixed or Pinned?

What are you fixing and what are you pinning? It's not clear what you are trying to accomplish.

The supports at the abutments. The supports we used in the bottom of the piers are fixed support.

RE: Bridge Design Modeling: Fixed or Pinned?

It's getting clearer but....how many spans? length? are the piers integral with the superstructure, is that why they're fixed at the base?

How about posting an elevation view of the bridge?
