Any updates for clean DXF?

Any updates for clean DXF?

thread561-319609: Exporting a DXF of a drawing (journal available???)

I read the above thread, and it makes sense to do .cgm export to get a clean sheet out, but sheets with multiple view scales don't work very well here. So I was wondering, is there any new action on the .dxf front? What I am hoping to achieve is a clean .dxf drawing that doesn't try to take any model geometry on the trip as that seems to be an issue when a supplier (tool shop) imports. I keep pushing parasolid to do cutter paths, but I can see where real 2D can save them some time...

Does the 2DExchange do just this? (If so, we may switch up some licensing.)

NX7.5 TCeExpress V5

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks and have a good weekend,
KLINE

RE: Any updates for clean DXF?

Hi KLINE,
yes the new NX8.5 AUTO-CAD DWG/DXF EXPORT does it quite nicely.
For previous versions 2D xchange can be used for flattening (using NX2D option)the drafting first (so you will not end up getting anything in the model (geometry) but only drafting and then export it again as a dxf/dwg using 2d- xchange (DWG /DXF option).
Do let us know if it works fine for you.
Best Regards
Kapil Sharma
