Welder Continuity

Welder Continuity

Welder Continuity

(OP)
I have a question regarding welder qualification and continuity per ASME Section IX, QW-322. A welder successfully qualifies for three WPSs, each involving a different base metal (P-No) and filler metal (F-No), but all involve GMAW process. Two months later, he welds to only one of these procedures. Does that count toward his continuity for only that one particular WPS, or does it count toward his continuity for all three WPSs?

RE: Welder Continuity

QW322 only makes reference to process not base metal. If he welds GMAW process on anything he qualifies for all his GMAW tickets for the period.
