Offroad buggy space frame analysis

(OP)
Hi, I've been given the task to design a spaceframe chassis for an offroad buggy. One of the jobs is to calculate the bending, torsion, stiffness of the chassis. I'm going to to a simple free body bending moment diagram to see how the components of the vehicle puts loads and stress on the chassis. What other hand calculations can I do e.g. to work out the torsion stress? Would I distribute all the loads onto one side of the vehicle, e.g. if it landed on two wheels?

Yes very much so. In fact I'd have thought a one wheel landing is quite likely.

Grab a copy of Mike Costin's book, the appendix includes spaceframe analysis.
