Hy all

just wanna know which one is better material grade in ss 316-L/304-L....can
i use 316-L instead of 304-L or vice versa.

Not enough information to provide an answer. What is the expected service conditions for the above - temperature, environment, etc.

Mechanically they are very similar, so if there is no corrosion go ahead.
Otherwise we need to know specifics about the environment.

If the ss is to be welded, 316L is more forgiving than 304L for sensitization. But as metengr says more info needed.

Its a reformed gas-commodity operating at 2340 kpa and 157 degrees celcius....4 inch
