Tips for finding contract job

(OP)
Hello,

I have been doing contract work for the past 9 months. The project I was hired on for is finishing up.

What is the best way to find similar 4-9month contract positions?

Thanks

Tim

Find an agency working in the field and get on their books.

RE: Tips for finding contract job

When I was in contract engineering I used to use www.CEWeekly.com and was very successful doing so. Even though I have been a direct employee the last eight years I continue my membership at CEWeekly just in case.

RE: Tips for finding contract job

When I did contract engineering, I was signed on with 4x temp "engineering" agencies. Figured if the first, second or third didn't have something starting in the next week, the fourth would.

Was never "out-of-contract" for more than 14 days in 2-1/2 years. A few (very few) contracts were for 4-8 weeks, more were for 6-8 months. Did CAD, 3D CAD, piping routing and pipe calc's, structural sizing and calc's, pipe supports, wrote tech manuals, wrote power plant procedures and instruction manuals, etc.
