Hinges and collapse

Hinges and collapse

(OP)
hey everybody,

i'm designing a framed concrede structure for a test on the ductility of recycled concrete. The structure has two floors and on each one i have 2 cables pushing the structure. In order to dimension the foundations, I need to estimate the forces for the collapse mechanism.
How would you model such situation?

I defined PMM hinges using the moment curvature relations from the section designer of Sap and applied the cable forces as nonlinear. I defined them with a small value and changed their scale factor to reach the collapse. The problem is that i dont reach it. The hinges change their states but the structure just keeps receiving higher and higher loads and the analysis only stops because of a huge number of null steps.

Any ideias of what I can be doing wrong?
Any help is MUCH appreciated
