Strange Behaviour: Axisymmetric Model in Patran turns into Shell in Nastran.

Strange Behaviour: Axisymmetric Model in Patran turns into Shell in Nastran.

(OP)
I am modeling a 2D axisymmetric model in Patran using Explicit nonlinear analysis.
It's a rod with some forces applied to it's end while the other end is supported.
In order to create the 2D model I have used 2D solid property with axisymmetric option.
The strange thing is that it seems Nastran just turns the model into something else and then solve it!
Here is some part of .f06 report file:
** Warning in SOL700 Translator - PLPLANE will be changed to PSHELL with t=1.0
Can anyone please help me find out what's wrong? I am sure that ls-dyna supports 2d axisymmetric model. Even if Nastran does not support axisymmetry then why such option exists in Patran explicit analysis?
Regards.
