Alternative to Wave-Linker

Alternative to Wave-Linker

(OP)
In the past whenever making a machined part from a casting I would use Wave-Linker to start the machining component.

I currently am working on a project which the customer requires that the Machined part & the Cast part be at the same level in the Assembly Structure once finished.

When using Wave-Linker the casting is first made a component of the machining by adding a component using assemblies. Doing this causes the casting to be at a different level in the assembly structure (Assembly Navigator).

Does anyone know how to make both components appear at the same level in the Assembly Structure? Using Wave-Linker or some other method?

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
