Formula to calculate bending from point load on circular plate

Formula to calculate bending from point load on circular plate

(OP)
Could anyone give me a formula to calculate the bending moment of a circular plate with a point load applied to the centroid. The plate to be designed as simply supported along the perimeter.

I know I can design it as a beam strip spanning 2 ways, but want a more accurate calculation.

The case is a 177 diameter plate with 250kN point load at centroid, can be applied over a 50mmx50mm area.

Thanks

you need to get your hands on a copy of Roarks Formulas for Stress and Strain.

It will have the formulas you need.
