catia v5 under/over constrained?

catia v5 under/over constrained?

Hello i am currently working through the intoduction to catia v5 work book. I am trying to use the pad tool in sketcher but it is coming up that it is under/over constrained, could anyone tell me what causes this . cheers.

RE: catia v5 under/over constrained?

You have too many dimensions (over constrained), or not enough. Before you exit the sketcher all geometry should be green. Color may be depending on how Catia is set up.

Hello, that's great to know, i ll start looking into it.

Thanks

RE: catia v5 under/over constrained?

If there is a problem with your sketch which is causing the pad to fail, go inside your sketch and look for "Sketch Analysis" which will show you clearly if there are problems such as overlapping entities, gaps or non-construction geometry.
