Legacy PLC-5 Processors

Legacy PLC-5 Processors

(OP)
Hello All:

I have several PLC5/40C ControlNet processors at our plant, and need to have several standby spares to replace the processor card in the event one fails. These are the ControlNet processors that have ControlNet v1.25, not the more prevalent v1.5. Rockwell no longer sells/actively supports these processors, so I am looking for used/refurbished units on the secondary market. Anyone know where I might find these units?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Regards,

Doehl1

Try PLCCenter.com

RE: Legacy PLC-5 Processors

I have bought replacements and had repairs done by these folks for PLC5 processors and I/O, to date no complaints,

I also have a customer who is a big user of PLC5's and he likes this outfit,

Hope that helps, Mike L.

RE: Legacy PLC-5 Processors

Solar Turbines was by far the largest user of ControlNet Phase 1.25 controllers, and since you're a power plant company I'm going to hazard the guess your controllers are part of a Solar Turbines system.

ST is genuinely going to be the world's best source for these controllers: they have an even larger stake in supporting them than Rockwell Automation does. If they have run out of spares, they will probably be driving the price of the gray market, too.
