Monorail support

Monorail support

Hi!

I'm designing a monorail which is support at three points. The monorail beam (I-beam) is bolted in its upper flange as shown in the enclosed sketch. Since it is a continuous beam there will be a bending moment over the middle support. My question is: Do I have to design the bolts for this bending moment or only for the vertical load? Is it depending on the rotational stiffness between the supports vs. the monorail beam?

RE: Monorail support

Design the beam for the moment and the bolts for the reactions. But no moments in the bolts. It's a continuous beam over simple supports.

Thanks!
