NX-8 file to 3d Max

(OP)
Hello,
I want open archive from NX-8 at 3d Max 2012, I use to import the IGES file, but the NURBS at 3d Max it's no good, the surface have a deffects and something it's wrong.
Someone know the way to export a NX-8 file to 3d Max 2012 and keep the quality surface?

Thanks!

RE: NX-8 file to 3d Max

You need a rhino3d for this. http://www.rhino3d.com/
export file as STP from nx, and open in rhino3d and export like a 3ds file.
stay perfect.
iges is not good for this.

RE: NX-8 file to 3d Max

Hi,
Bezier surfaces do better in such cases....but if nothing seems to work for you then:
(1) Import the nurb data into 3D MAX and see what data is missing or where do you find the quality below par.Note these areas.
(2) In NX use REFIT FACE to get a more clean surface in those areas where you thought quality was not good.(try to avoid increasing the number of patches by any means untill and unless it has to be...)

Sorry i have no experience working on 3D Max and so will not be of much help to you but i guess Bezier are a better bet (although time taken to create a bezier model is a herculean and time taking task)when it comes to controlling the data integrity.
Best Regards
Kapil Sharma
