View Popup / Set Rotate Point
View Popup / Set Rotate Point
(OP)
I would like to simply create a keyboard shortcut that will allow me to use the "Set Rotate Point" (found in the "View Popup" menu via right clicking in display area). I was able to do this in an earlier version of UG but can't seem to find a way to do it now.
If anyone can help me out with this or could point me in the right direction I promise to think good thoughts about you for the next 24 hours. :)
Currently running UG7.5.4.4
Thanks for your time

RE: View Popup / Set Rotate Point
Unluckily i could not find a way to create an accelerator key for SET ROTATE POINT in NX7.5 but there is a way you can achieve it in NX8 and beyond (use set rotate point once and then it will be in the REPEAT COMMAND list and is accessible for creating accelerator key via right click customize ).
Let us see if someone has a better way of doing it in NX7.5.
I guess the SET ROTATE POINT is not even recorded as a journal too.

see if that does it for you
RE: View Popup / Set Rotate Point
However, if you still want to set an explict 'rotate point', we've also gone ahead and added a default out-of-the-box accelerator in NX 8.5, in this case Ctrl+F2, which will place you in the mode where you can select a point on the model which will be the new display 'rotate point'. And then doing an Ctrl+F3 will reset this back to the default rotate point scheme.

RE: View Popup / Set Rotate Point
Yes, the CTRL+F2 is invaluable and essential even with the improvements of NX8.5. I frequently examine large models and need to zoom in on small areas to inspect detail, the need will never be eliminated but the improvements are good :)
