RE: coating accelerated corrosion test design

Hi uver,

I know yr intention, SST consumes time and resources before the test is done. For these reasons, many ppl have been working towards altering or designing a fast, reliable, repeatable corrosion test. Well, you can design yr own too, of cos. One important point to consider is the recognition and acceptance of this newly designed testing method by all the parties concerned. You customers, yr supplier etc need to recognise this standard, which up to their required plating quality guideline.

I've read an article on www.corrosiondoctor.com, a statement sounds like this "... SST is the most valuable accelerated corrosion test in the world, if it's properly done ...". Bare in mind, even SST is only an indication of the plating corrosion resistance, and until today, no any correction relate this test to real life env. I doubt any other "quicken" method that can produce a better, reliable result.

Hope this help, thanks
