ETR motor from Switzerland?

ETR motor from Switzerland?

ETR motor from Switzerland?

(OP)
Hey guys, I need some help... I have an electric motor from a company in Switzerland called ETR. They are located in Martigny according to the id tag on the motor. Does anyone know anything about this company? I have searched the web up and down and can only find a few listings for them on the web in business directories. No contact no web page nothing. I am hoping that they had been bought out and just go by a different name. Any information would be greatly appreciated. The motor was on a used piece of equipment and was damaged in shipping so need to either replace or repair it.
Thanks,
Bill

RE: ETR motor from Switzerland?

Looks like a distributor with repair shop. Probably Chinese motors. That does not have to be bad but they do for sure not manufacture motors.

RE: ETR motor from Switzerland?

The equipment supplier, the people you bought the equipment from, doesn't know?

Most motors are standard and available from a second source. Are there dimensions, speed and electrical data available? If so, you can probably find a replacement motor with more visible reps.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

It was used equipment... I doubt they even knew where they got the machine let alone the motor manufacturer. There was information on the ID tag. But it was in Suisse or what ever language they speak. I linked the ETR to ELECTRO-TECHNIQUE DU RHONE SA (ETR) but I cant get any info beyond that. I was hoping someone knew something about the company so I can trace back the numbers on the id tag. All I know is it is 60hz and 575 volts. This nomenclature seems to be universal. I have to assume it is all metric but I don't know how to classify a motor housing.

RE: ETR motor from Switzerland?

You will find the chart shown in the link useful for determining the motor frame size. Other information that you will need to replace the motor includes the voltage and hertz that you already have plus the speed and power rating.

I forgot to add that if you are having trouble interpreting the motor nameplate that you should take a picture of it and post it here so that someone can help.
