I have a somewhat questionable set of drawings that was handed down to me for label cutting die. One of the parts is calling for 1018/1020 cold roll steel. It is the lower part of the die that locates the label. I'm concerned about rusting. Should I be worried about this part rusting excessively?

RE: 1018/1020 cold roll steel

1018-1020 steel is not inherently corrosion resistant. It requires some type of coating or rust inhibitor in order to provide useful life without rusting.

Do you have a recommended coating?
