High flow electric valve

High flow electric valve

(OP)
We are trying to find an electric air valve that connects to a small pressurized cylinder that is capable of filling a 1 liter bag in less than 500 microseconds. We have been looking for a couple weeks and have had very little luck. We are trying to exhaust our valve options before we look into inflating the bag with a chemical reaction.

RE: High flow electric valve

I think you need to do the math; my crude estimate comes up with about Mach 12 to fill such a bag through a 1-inch diameter opening. Even assuming a 4-inch diameter opening, you need about 2/3 the speed of sound.

You are asking for a process that's 20 times faster than an airbag, which is pretty fast, and uses and explosive to make that happen.

RE: High flow electric valve

Have you looked at Parker's 2-way high pressure valves?

Good luck,
