Promote Body in an Arrangement

Promote Body in an Arrangement

Promote Body in an Arrangement

(OP)
I'm having trouble getting a promote body feature to update in different arrangements. Right now, I have several components in an assembly with arrangements that position them in different ways. What I would like to be able to do is mirror these components to create a mirrored assembly within the same part. I can set the original parts as one reference set and the mirrored parts as another reference set for the next level assembly.

I don't particularly want to use the "Mirror Assembly" feature, because the mirrored parts are actually the same - a mirror just rotates them 180 degrees (I know this isn't always the case, but it is in this instance). The "Mirror Assembly" feature creates new components, and I don't want that.

My solution thus far has been to use the "Promote Body" feature on the original components, followed by a "Mirror Body" feature. This works, but it only works for the first arrangement. When I switch to a different arrangement, my original parts move, but my mirrored parts stay where they are. I can right-click on a "Promote Body" feature and click on Information, which tells me that the position is based on the first arrangement, probably because it's the arrangement I was under when I created the features.

I know it's not an order-of-operations thing, or that the promotion and mirroring occurs before the constraints, because when I change my constraints on the first arrangement, my mirrored bodies DO move. It's just that my promote bodies are only occurring in that first arrangement and not any others. Is there a way to get my promoted/mirrored bodies to move on different arrangements?

Thanks for any help, and I'm using NX7.5.
