Compression Only Members in Etabs

(OP)

I am new to etabs and currently undertaking an Internship with an Irish Structural Firm. I have been tasked with using etabs to model a compression only link (a gap link from my understanding). Essentially I wish to have a compression only element between two modular rooms(one on top of the other). This member is to restrict deflection of a protruding cantilevering floor when a floor live load is applied to the model, (ie when the link between the 2 stories of modules is put under compression. However i do not want this element to have any impact when there is a live load on the cantilevering corridor. (this load case would cause the floor of the module to deflect upwards, and I want my deflection on etabs to display that this 'compression' only member is unconected to the ceiling of the lower module. Essentially I want a small steel piece attached to the underside of the floor of an upper story module, which will simply rest on the ceiling of the module directly beneath it however if the floor beam of the module deflects upwards, it will not draw the ceiling beam of the lower module upwards with it as they are to be unconnected. I hope you understand the scenario I am trying to explain and if there is any advice anyone could offer me I would greatly appreciate it.
