extract coordinates of nodes of a mesh in the right order

extract coordinates of nodes of a mesh in the right order

(OP)
Hey everyone,

I have a practical question. I would like to mesh a 1D curve. Therefore i make a fem file in which i import my sketch (closed) curve. I mesh this with a 1D mesh whilst marking 'auto-chain'. Then i would like to export a list of the node-coordinates. Now i work with a clumsy workaround: clicking node information, copying all text to excel and removing white spaces + converting text to numbers with a macro. But the problem is that the order of the nodes is mixed up, despite having clicked autochain.

Say i have a closed 1D shape consisting of 4 sketch curves. Then the nodes are like nodes_of_line1>nodes_of_line3>nodes_of_line2>nodes_of_line4. Which is not very practical & which i have to correct manually in excel :(.

It would be nice if someone can show me an easier way. I need these coordinates to import them into MATLAB in which i have written an dynamic simulation.

Regards,
bvrml
