NX7.5 possible to move section line to new parent view?

NX7.5 possible to move section line to new parent view?

NX7.5 possible to move section line to new parent view?

(OP)
Long story short, somehow a view on a drawing isn't displaying the proper X,Y coordinates for a set of features. We've double and triple checked everything and can't seem to figure out why (we tried orienting the view to a plane, rotating the view, etc). We've even added new views and the numbers come out correct... it's only on the existing view that the numbers are coming out wrong. We've just chalked it up to a corrupted view.

With that said, there are a bunch of views that are dependant on a section view taken from that main parent view. If I just re-create the parent, can I re-associate the section line to the new view without having to recreate 4-5 new detail views?

I know this used to be impossible, but figured I'd ask.

thanks in advance.

RE: NX7.5 possible to move section line to new parent view?

If you wont be changing the drawing or model at all you could simply hide the current corrupted parent view and replace it with the new, correct one.

RE: NX7.5 possible to move section line to new parent view?

Hi,
Silly it may be but can you re-check the co-ordinates in the parent view after deleting any section view taken from it (:) offcourse not saving the changes...just for checking purpose).
I have seen a case in the past where the drawing views got corrupted after a section was taken from a parent view (reason found that when we ran a EXAMINE GEOMETRY analysis on the model there were issues with it (overlapping geometry)).Once we got the model refined the drafting view and the section views were working fine.
I know it may not be relevant in your case but thought it might be worthwhile sharing it with you if nothing seems to work for you.
