NX75 - Custom Symbol - How to update ?

NX75 - Custom Symbol - How to update ?

(OP)
I have a custom symbol that needs an update.
How is it supposed to be done?
I have opened the symbol in NX, added a new line of text and saved it
but it's still the old version that comes up when inserted...

Any suggestions welcome.

RE: NX75 - Custom Symbol - How to update ?

Hi,
After opening the master symbol part and doing the editing (adding entities) did you chose FINISH CUSTOM SYMBOL EDIT and verified if the change has been incorporated? And then did you used REFRESH (right click on the symbol folder (i assume you are initiating it from RE-USE )) ?
Sorry i am on NX8 so there may be a probable fallout from my side but still give it a try.

RE: NX75 - Custom Symbol - How to update ?

Hi,
i just noticed the enhancements done for CUSTOM SYMBOLS after NX7.5.This is taken from NX7.5 documentation "When you create a symbol and place it in a publicly accessible library, users can use this master symbol to create symbol instances in their parts. However, once you create a master symbol, it cannot be edited. You can only delete the symbol from the symbol library."
What NX7.5 release you are using?
