Pressure Vessel Design

(OP)
Hi everyone,

Could anyone explain how to resolve the below presssure vessel design analysis error?

"Computed overall MDMT was higher than required value"

Thanks.

RE: Pressure Vessel Design

First of all, what is the software that you are using?

A higher computed MDMT means that you have specified a lower MDMT input in your design. You would have to read more on UG-20 and UCS 66 to fully understand this topic. Depending on the situation, you can get away with lower MDMT by doing PWHT, Impact testing, etc. Figure UCS-66.2 provides rules for determining the lowest MDMT permissible without impact testing.
